What is lithotherapy?

Lithotherapy comes from the Greek words lithos (stone) and therapeia (cure). Lithotherapy uses the energetic properties of natural stones/crystals to promote physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

It is an ancient practice that has been traced back to ancient Egypt (around 5,000 BC). Ancient Egyptians wore stones as amulets, carved them into statuettes, and even disposed them in burials to protect the dead in the afterlife.

Each stone having its own properties and mineral characteristics, it can be used in a variety of ways for different benefits (worn as jewelry, set around the house...). The essential premise of lithotherapy is that stones emit unique, subtle vibrations that interact with the human body's energy field. Much like grounding, having crystals interact with one's energy field (human, animal or earth) can have a multitude of effects and benefits.

Each crystal having its own properties, they can be used and combined for various purposes: love, stress, creativity, energy and vitality, communication, clairvoyance, protection...

While anyone can use crystals, getting the help of a practitioner can help make sure the right crystals are used correctly, and avoid incompatibilities. We are here to help if you would like to book a consultation with us!

Lithotherapy is a wellbeing technique and should not replace medical treatment. It is an alternative technique that can be used in any situation to promote wellbeing, but stones should not be ingested or used for medical purposes. Please consult your health practitioner if you suffer from any medical conditions.
